She Done Him Wrong

"DAILY SKETCH," April 2nd.
Somebody must have used a sundial with which to gauge her three and a half minutes, she's so hard-boiled.

And I imagine, too, that is must have been her crowning glory that gave somebody else the idea that platinum was a precious metal. Her name is Mae West and it now behoves me to write about her intelligently. Or thereabouts.

EXTRAORDINARY.

She is the most extraordinary woman I have ever set eyes on.

It is really rare for a woan to make a definite hit in her first film. Diana Wynyard did it, or course, and so did Katherine Hepburn, after her own fashion, but few others.

THAT REMARK.

Mae West was one though. The first remark she ever made on the screen came right off the ice. It was an answer to the exclamation "My goodness, what diamonds!" The answer being "Goodness had nothing to do with it, dearie." She said it in just the right way; so right that she is now a real live Hollywood star, in her second picture, which bears the intriguing title "She Done Him Wrong" and may be seen by the curious and enthusiastic alike at the Plaza this week.

FORTHCOMING SUPER PRODUCTIONS:
Henry Kendall, Binnie Barnes & Cyril Maude in "COUNSEL'S OPINION"
SYDNEY HOWARD in "NIGHT OF THE GARTER"
