Good Americans are good neighbors. What makes us Americans such good neighbors?Is it the pity? Or is it rather a mutual helpfulness? Another investment in cooperation which has made this country great and strong. "Back in the old days when a neighbor's crops were in danger, the neighbors helped." "When there was sickness, the neighbors helped. When there was accident or misfortune, the neighbors helped."  "As we have grown, so have our problems."  "but we still have the means to meet our problems together."    "In nearly every city and town in America the symbol of the Red Feather is the symbol of our mutual helpfulness."  "Keeping each other well,"  "solving each other's problems with a maximum of skill,"  "and a minimum of hurt pride and emotional distress."  "Because through the twelve thousand Red Feather services which are supported" "by our community chests, "  "we can help others to help themselves"  "to greater independence and prosperity." "It belongs to you. You help create its services for the good of all. It combines under one symbol a number of neighborly services that make life more worthwhile."
