The Democratic Presidential Nominee Winsor McCay's act was filmed by Vitagraph in 1911. Starting in 1912, he began animating some of the first movie cartoons. He would draw every single drawing himself, rather than using other animators or techniques to aid in streaming animation. Gertrude Hoffman was later arrested at this theater for performing the Salome dance, but the case was thrown out of court. Notice that on Sunday she is performing impersonations instead of her erotic dance, probably because it was illegal on Sunday (see the note on the front page). Abbie Mitchell and Tom Fletcher were famous African-American singing performers.
